| Poet, Tanka Poet, Translator, Essayist, Editor and a former lecturer of English of Waseda University, in Tokyo, I am, in English and Japanese languages using. As a translator, I shift Japanese writings into English and English ones into Japanese: in both cases in a way expressing me. Awards: several, including Gold Medal in Taiwan WCP, Gold Medal in Larrisa/ Greece 22nd WCP (2011), and Golden Book Award, in 2012 Israel WCP. In Japan: Okinoshima Islands Celebrating Tanka Prize; Selected by Lady Kimiko Reizen, a descendant of Teika Fujiwara, a most reputed Japanese tanka poet in the middle ages of Japan. Recently she awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the International Board of Examiners by Edizioni Universum in Trento, Italy My current major interest; Cultural exchange between Japan and the International world, especially in Haiku and Tanka exchanging, international; On it, I was strongly influenced by the Asian Americans poetry activity, especially by the Japanese and Chinese American poets, who tried to challenge the American major societies to lead the protest and expressed out their Japanese: Asian identity. I was also influenced by American Imagist poets, like Ezra Pound, Amy Lowell and other poets, who took the view of the Asian cultures, especially Chinese and Japanese ones, like floating pictures, haiku poems, Chinese characters, ink brushing pictures, gardens, and adopted them into English poetry and culture, following Arthur D. Waley, who translated The Tale of Genji; from Japanese into English and Ernest Fenollosa; one of his main works was to introduce Japanese Noh plays into the West, which was followed by Ezra Pound and W.B.Yeats in their poems and plays. In addition, we owe so much to Japanology, in the world-wide: The International Japan and Asian Studies, which have been long achieved by both of the east and west nations, for which we have to thank and to return back, I think. I was born in Tokyo, Japan. Then I was brought up and educated there, in Tokyo. I had university education at the Literature Course of Waseda University in Tokyo and graduated from the course. My major was in English/ American Literature and English Language. I had a degree of B.A. in 1972. My undergraduate thesis was on T.S. Eliot; on his poetical drama. Then I studied at the Graduate School of Waseda University in the literary course: I had a degree of M. A. in 1975. My master's thesis was on Shakespeare, then entered the doctoral course of English Literature and finished it. 1977-1978, I attended lectures and the seminar of the graduate course of Harvard University. During the stay, I had precious experiences to watch and appreciate theatrical performances, visiting museums, enjoying trips. My poems also have been published in such poetry magazines as Poems of the World, by Elma D. Photikarm in US, Heaven, by Bidhan Datta in India and the poetry magazine Samvedana Review, edited by Skanda Prassad in India, in several Korean poetry magazines, like Literary Works of Korea, in Nepal-Japan anthology and in Gunu: a Mongolian poetry magazine. I joined in another bilingual Mongol-Japan poetry anthology, for which I worked also as a translator as well as a tanka poet. In Spain, Vigo, for The International Congress of Women Writers, I presented my paper: On Japanese Women Tanka Poets; Classical and Modern, which was later published in a book, edited by Celia Vazaques, in Spain 2007. My poems have been translated into Italian, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Greek, Macedonian, Slovakian, Korean, Chinese, Mongolian, Spanish, Portuguese, and English for which .
